I have began production for my dissertation practical and written. The best part about this course: you only need 3000 words. We develop a 10 minute practical that coincides with the investigation. I will be the production manager and underwater cinematographer for the 10 minute Performative documentary on diving incidents. My inspiration is the current boom of hospital disaster stories on television. Although Hospitals and coastguards will not be available I will be utilising hypothetical re-enactments. These will be designed for the audience to experience what it may be like in a world that is not their own.
I will be following experts such as Bill Nichols to keep as close as possible to conventions of performative documentary. This will be a completely different style from the my recent expository documentary I love and adore "Don't forget to breath". I have began production for my dissertation practical and written.
My written material will answer the question: How have I worked to the Conventions of performative documentary style?
I am truly psyched about this project. I will be running the show on a field I am enthusiastic about.
